Investments for South African families

Putting money away is easier when you know what the account is for. We help families and individuals compare retirement annuities, tax-free savings, flexible investments and endowments, and we explain the trade-offs before anyone fills in a form.

Start with the job the money has to do

A retirement pot and a fund for a child’s education are different jobs. The product that suits one can be a poor fit for the other, because of tax, access and how long you can leave the money alone.

In a first conversation we ask what the money is for, when you might need it, and what you already have. Then we talk about which structures are even worth comparing. We do not start with a fund name.

What this website will not do

It will not tell you what return you will earn. It will not rank a product by price, and it will not pretend that a page can know your tax rate, your debts or your family.

Illustrations on this site use a stated assumed rate so you can see compound growth. They are not forecasts. Actual returns vary, and fees and tax change the result.

General information only. This page is not personal advice and it is not an offer. Product rules, tax and your own circumstances decide what is suitable. Read the official documents before you decide.

Questions we hear

Do I need every type of investment on this page?

No. Most families use one or two structures that match a goal. A retirement annuity, a tax-free savings account and a flexible investment solve different problems. We help you see which ones are relevant.

Can you promise a return?

No. Investment values move. Anything on this site that shows a future number is an illustration at a stated rate, not a forecast and not personal advice.

Do you only work with people in Johannesburg?

We are based in Johannesburg and we help clients across South Africa. If you want to meet in person, say so when you contact us. Phone and email work for clients further away.
